The Shire Hall Trust relies on the revenues of the hall to cover costs like heating and electricity, water etc. However improvement works cost huge amounts of money which we cannot raise without help. For these projects we often look to funding bodies, Trusts and Foundations for support but we also continually do our own fundraising to help put a percentage of the costs into the pot to get things done!
The 500 club is a little lottery. For £1 per month you can buy a number. Every month three numbers are drawn for three different size prizes. Over the years money raised from the 500 club has helped decorate the Shire Hall, buy tables and chairs and has gone towards some of the bigger development projects.
To join the 500 club please see Maggie at Touchwood Homecare in Howden's Market Place.
Or contact her on (01430) 431535.
Thank you to all those people who are already members!
The rake-seating was put in in 2000 at great cost to The Shire Hall Trust. To help re-coup some of that money, individual seats were sold at £50 per seat for which one got a brass plaque attached to the available seat of their choice. Plaques were popular for individuals, companies and memorials. There are less than half remaining to be sponsored and these are still available at £50 per seat.
If you are interested in sponsoring a seat at The Shire Hall please contact Sarah in The Shire Hall Office (01430) 432510.
